Custom Fishing Rods
We provide the service of assembling your purchased rod kit components to your specifications. A flat rate of $75.00 plus Federal Excise tax, applies to all custom rods up to 7 ft. Additional charges apply for rods longer than 7 ft. To order your custom Bad-Fish rod click here!
Basic Wrapping Price Includes
- Custom spline (backbone) alignment of the blank with your guides and reel seat
- Assessment of your strength and body size for reel seat placement
- Installation of Hypalon®, Cork Tape, 3M™ Grip Tape or Butt Cord
- Installation of Reel Seat and Gimbal if required
- Triple wrapped guides using quality Gudebrod or Rice nylon thread with the colors of your choice
- Clear Epoxy guide wrap finish
- Bad-Fish Logo at butt wrap and (if desired) your name and blank model
Other Upgrades and Services (extra cost)
- Thread Art, including extensive or complex Inlays, Rainbow Patterns, Blends, Chevron Patterns, Diamond Patterns (call for estimate)
- 8 Foot Rods (+$5)

Handle and Reel Seat Installation
We have found that some of our customers prefer not to deal with Hypalon®, cork grips and reel seats. We can install these items onto your new blank and properly line up the backbone, along with the gimbal or butt cap, do a winding check and have it ready for you to wrap.

How Long Will it Take to Build My Custom Rod?
Building a custom rod usually takes as little as one week, to as much as 8 weeks, depending on availability of components and our backlog. I will typically take your order, collect your components as soon as possible, and when I start assembly of your components, you will get a request for payment.
